Art and Technique Exposition, Paris

The Parisian Exposition of Art and Technology was the first event that attempted to showcase art from all over the world. The exposition ran for six months, starting on May 25th 1937 and ending November 25th 1937. In order to accommodate so many exhibits, two museums were constructed specifically for this purpose: Palais de Chaillot which houses Musée de l'Homme (the Museum of Man) as well as Palais du Tokyo - an exhibit hall designed by architect Le Corbusier who also happened to work closely alongside Pierre Jeanneret. This event was sanctioned by the International Bureau of Exhibitions.

Now if you look closely, you can see the signature of the master poster artist, Leonetto Cappiello! This one is a rare work not often seen. The artwork depicts a woman and child in stance proudly upholding an eternal flame. A compass can be spotted in the hand of the juvenile - a sign of great knowledge and ancient mystique. A spectrum of glorious colors falls to their exterior as they focalize as the highlight on this beautiful piece of art.
