Founded in 1888 by Irish immigrant Peter Collier, 'Collier's National Weekly' was a popular American publication that ran from April 28, 1888 to its final issue in January 4, 1957. Renowned as the first mass-circulation publication in the United States, 'Collier's' was the perfect melting pot of trending topics, investigative journalism and literature to properly represent a generation of group think.

With 'Collier's' commissioning prominent figures such as Winston Churchill, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, J. D. Salinger, and John Steinbeck to aggregate both political discourse and literature to its pages- it's no wonder this publication was such a roaring success!

How fabulous is this iconic 1940s madam? If we know anything, it's that famed American illustrator Arthur Crouch certainly knows how to make a cover page statement! Not to mention, after nearly 20-years as a prominent contributor to 'Collier's', Crouch's illustrative design work remains highly sought after to this day. Each fine detail shines effortlessly.

If we know one thing for certain, it's that at only 5 cents a copy, 'Collier's' famed cover illustrations simply drip in vintage decorum. This fabulous 1940 magazine cover will frame beautifully in your home.
