Campo Marzio, Rome, Italy Hand Colored Engraving

Fine engraving from one of the most influential and beautiful works on the monuments and antiquities of ancient Rome. The Antiquae urbis splendor, ('The Splendor of the Ancient City') served as an important reference book and source of inspiration for many writers and artists. Giacomo Lauro was a roman printmaker active from 1583 to about 1650. The verso of this leaf contains text in three languages with the page title in Italian: Meta Sudante.

Condition: Age appropriate wear. Paper toning in accordance with the print's age. Marks/stains as per photo. Wear around the edges and minor paper loss might be present in some prints. Please refer to each print's photo to get a better understanding of the condition.
