Stockholm was founded in 1252 and has a rich history dating back centuries. What began as a small fishing village eventually developed into an important political center when King Gustav Vasa transferred his capital in 1523 after defeating Danish forces during the "the Northern Seven Years' War".

Nowadays, the city's waterfront is dotted with old buildings and small parks while newer architecture scatters the city to accommodate its growing population!

This fantastic antique map was printed for the 14th edition of Brockhaus-Konversations Lexikon by Bibliographisches Institut in Leipzig, Germany. Perfect for your home or office.
