The Marshall Plan, also known as the European Recovery Program, was a U.S. initiative to provide aid to Western Europe after the devastation of World War II. In order to promote the plan, a poster contest was held throughout Europe which represented the theme of cooperation and economic recovery. Over 10,000 pieces were submitted to the Marshall Plan contest, and a panel of twelve graphic artists from around the world served as judges. 25 posters were selected for publication. This original poster titled "Malgre Tout" was designed by artist Alfredo Lalia. A rare and fantastic piece of history!
