"La Mort du Cynge" Or "Death of the Swan" is an exceptional film inspired by the distinguished choreography of Mikhail Fokine. Released in the US as "The Ballerina", this graceful film was inspired by his close working relationship with real-life Russian-born ballerina, Anna Pavlova.

"The Ballerina" was a movie inspired by Pavlova's life and starred well-known French ballerina, Yvette Chauvire. Directed by Jean Benoit-Levy, this magical poster marks the films debut release in Japan in the fall of 1941. With Pavlova having performed the famed dance over 4,000 times, it is no wonder it maintains timeless notoriety among dancers in modern day.

When asked about the symbolism behind "The Death of the Swan", Russian choreographer Mikhail Fokine replied, "it is not to showcase technique, but to create a symbol of the everlasting struggle in this life and all that is mortal." What a beautiful reminder.

This refined, and elegant classic will look fabulous hanging in your home. Perfect for the dancer in your life.
