A stunning piece of history. This magnificent 1918 poster by Haskell Coffin was commissioned by the US Treasury as part of the campaign to raise money for WWI by having civilians buy war savings stamps. The low-priced stamps were pasted into a booklet that when filled could be exchanged for a war bond. Joan is depicted in full armor and brandishing a sword, but with 20th century touches like lipstick and makeup.

Condition: Very Good. Original fold lines have been restored, minor fading. Border chip and minor tears have been also professionally restored. Very faint staining in the upper border. The colors are bright and vibrant, present very well.

Year: c.1918 - 106 years old

Size: 20.0" x 30.0" (51cm x 76cm)
