This Italian language poster has a fascinating story... produced in Brooklyn in 1917 (shortly after the US entered WWI), the target audience was Italian-speaking immigrants living in the US. L'Italia ha Bisogno (literally translates to "Italy Needs"), and encourages Italian people, in their native tongue, to eat less to help feed the Italian troops and citizens. The artist was George John Illion, a famous illustrator who made several WWI posters.

Condition: Very Good. Conservation mounted on linen. Light creases and a lower tear have been beautifully restored.
