This fabulous 1948 magazine was designed by celebrated American illustrator and staff-cartoonist Helen E. Hokinson.

Hokinson began contributing cartoons to The New Yorker in the early 1920s, and her work quickly became popular with readers for its distinctive style and humor. Her cartoons often featured well-to-do women engaged in domestic activities or social events, and were characterized by their sharp wit and incisive commentary on social mores. Needless to say, Hokinson's impact on the artistic community continues to thrive in modern day. Signed in plate.

If we know one thing for certain, it's that at only 20 cents a copy, The New Yorker's famed cover illustrations are simply dripping in vintage decorum. This fantastic piece will frame expertly. *Please note that this listing is for the cover artwork, and not the magazine as a whole.
