Formes et Couleurs was a Swiss luxury publication of the 1940s that gave high-end advertisers something rare: full-page illustration treated as seriously as editorial art. Parisian perfume houses, couture labels, and jewelers commissioned original artwork for its pages, and the results read less like advertisements than like posters. The period originals shown here come from that tradition of luxury commercial illustration at its postwar peak.
