Mid-Century Modern

Mid-century modern design, roughly the 1940s through the 1960s, was defined by a shared belief that good visual design and everyday commercial life belonged together. Illustrators and poster artists across Europe and North America developed a clean, confident graphic language: flat color, simplified form, and a wit that never tipped into irony. Raymond Savignac in France and the Polish School of Posters each pushed that language in distinct directions. The period originals here come from across that tradition.
