Jacques Kapralik (1906–1960) was a Romanian-born caricaturist who became one of MGM's go-to illustrators during Hollywood's golden studio era. His signature was exaggerated likeness work, capturing stars in a few bold lines with enough wit to sell a film before a single frame was seen. The trade advertisement illustrations he produced for MGM in the early 1940s are a distinct corner of Hollywood commercial art, made for industry insiders rather than the general public.
