How we make sure your vintage poster arrives safely.

Hey, art fans I just wanted to give you an idea of what we go through to try to get the posters to you and the condition that they left here. We put a lot of care into it, so I thought you might be interested in seeing the process. Just to start, this one is actually a beautiful original poster from 1939. It's, it was issued, I believe, by the French National Railway. It's stone lithograph and it's highlighting an area in eastern France that's known for its spa and hot springs. And that's actually what this graphic right here is. So absolutely beautiful in really good condition. Considering this is from 1939 especially, and we wanna make sure it stays that way. So the first thing that we do is make sure that we're gonna wrap this poster and when we roll it up, we're gonna roll it up in a tube and we're gonna put it in a piece of paper that's larger than the poster itself. And that is critical because ultimately we, if, if, if there's damage that happens as the poster is packed or during shipping, we wanna make sure it happens to these edges and not these edges. Okay? So, pretty simple process, but it takes a lot of care. I'm gonna go ahead and move these to make sure that we don't create any damage.
Ultimately, what we want to do is have the poster have a little bit of room at the end so we can overwrap it, and then we're going to be able to put it in, in, in a two safely. So the process is pretty simple. We kind of want to start y, make sure that we don't damage it, and then very carefully roll it up and take the craft paper behind it as well. And then roll them both up together. Craft paper's pretty thick. And we actually like to use a thick paper because that just helps us keep stability in the poster and keeps it rolled nicely and makes everything ship pretty well.
Okay, so we stepped away for a second and just got everything ready to ship. We weigh it, we measured the tube we put it into our order fulfillment system, and now it's all set to go. So we have a packing slip here we have the label here. And this is pretty much ready to finalize. So the next step could be considered possibly the most important is to, is to put this in the tube and then wrap it up and protect it. And again, our biggest focus at this point is really making sure that what is in the tube, which is the poster, is not damaged. And if any sort of nicking or creasing or any minor thing happens, it happens to the outside of the poster. Now in this case, we gonna have there's enough distance between the tube and the poster so we can actually get a nice flat service for this bubble wrap to sit against. But if that wasn't the case, we might snip it a little bit and create a, a, a a a surface for it to sit on. Just to protect it a little bit more. But this looks pretty good. So the rest is pretty simple. We're gonna go ahead and put this in the tube. We're going to wrap some bubble wrap and feel for how much room we have on each side. This looks pretty good.
Cap this side, we're gonna do the same thing. So again, you can kind of see here, it's gonna, it's gonna place quite nicely. Put this, the goal is to really have it, so it's going to enter through the shipping process and not move around at all. That's the goal. So just see how it fits and that would, that would actually do it pretty well.
Yeah. So I just wanna make sure it's not moving from side to side. This is actually pretty good. There you go. Put a label on this and we're good to go. So that's it. We just wanted to give you sort of a sense of what we do to make sure that the poster's gonna get to you in the condition that it left here. We're dealing with documents and posters and prints that are, you know, in some cases hundreds of years old. And we just wanna make sure it gets there safely. Thanks as always, if you guys have any questions, just feel free to give us a shout here at Authentic Vintage Posters.
Take care.
