France is renowned for priding itself on its rich culture and treasure trove of a historical repertoire; all of which continue to rank it as a top tourist destination since the inception of railway travel in the early 19th century.

The French Railway System (SNCF) was founded in 1928 during an era where cars were becoming more popular than trains. Due to this, the SNCF sought out on its mission to encourage tourism and train transport to cut down on harmful automobile emissions and traffic. They did this by commissioning some of France's top artist to embark into a newfound realm of captivating travel posters.

This gorgeous 1957 Beaujolais travel poster was designed by Doillon-Toulouse and features a breathtaking view of the French countryside.
