Le Comte de Luxembourg

This vintage poster for a 1934 Paris 3-act operetta features music by Franz Lehár, who composed famed classic "The Merry Widow".

It is adapted in French from the original German libretto by Alfred Maria Willner and Robert Bodanzky - "Der Graf von Luxemburg" or "The Count of Luxembourg" in English. The Count of Luxemburg remains an audience favorite to this day; its original premiere was held at Vienna's Theater an der Wien in 1909.

The artwork is fantastic! Designed by the artist Georges Dola, a ravishing red-lipped madam lends her hand through a torn canvas, awaiting a sweet kiss on her fingertips. What a beautiful sight. Perfect for the art lover or showman in your life.

Condition: Very Good. Very faint blemishes. Minor border chips have been professionally restored. Conservation mounted on linen.

Year: c.1934 - 90 years old
