Berlin, an iconic European capital known for its history (the Nazi era), has an exciting architectural and geographical structure like no other.

Berlin's transformation from fortress to modern metropolitan came about relatively quickly after WWII (1939-1945) when Soviet forces occupied East-Germany. The West German government saw this opportunity for economic stimulus and began rebuilding roadways and infrastructure to create safe haven for those fleeing from the west. Incredible!

This beautiful map was printed for the 14th edition of Brockhaus-Konversations Lexikon by Bibliographisches Institut in Leipzig, Germany. Perfect for your home or office.
