Donovan- Fillmore Auditorium BG-86

Step back to the golden era of music with this original Bill Graham concert poster. This fantastic piece advertises an iconic Donovan concert at the Cow Palace on September 22, 1967.

Designed by the talented Bonnie MacLean, this poster features a vibrant display of colors. Against a backdrop of audacious red, a harmonious interplay of rust, brown, and gold takes form, creating a captivating palette that enchants the senses. An uncredited photograph of Donovan claims the spotlight. Surrounding him, a garden of intricate flowers bloom, injecting the token psychedelic touch of the 1960s. How delightful!

NOTE: This is known to collectors as BG-86-RP-1.5.  During the original press run the printer noticed two small flaws in the plate after some posters had been printed, stopped the presses and corrected them. The first version has the two small flaws. These flaws are a small yellow dot between the upper arms of the “E” in “ONE” and a small yellow area along the top edge of the bottom curve of the “S” in “SEPT.” This particular piece has the yellow area in the "S" corrected, but not the "E" in one, categorizing it as a BG-86-RP-1.5. These conditions make these particular posters highly collectable.

Condition: Very Good. Age appropriate toning and fading. Small pinholes and creasing in each corner from previous hanging. Minor border wear. Small tear in top center right border. Minor blemish in "N" of Donovan. Please use zoom feature to get a better understanding of overall condition.

Year: c.1969 - 55 years old
