Judge was a New York humor magazine that ran from 1881 through the 1930s, competing directly with Puck and Life for the same audience of middle-class readers who wanted sharp political satire alongside lighter comic illustration. At its peak it drew some of the best commercial illustrators of the era, and its covers were designed to catch the eye on a crowded newsstand. The pieces shown here are period originals from that run.
