Rick Griffin came up in California surf culture before becoming one of the defining visual voices of the San Francisco psychedelic scene. His concert posters from the late 1960s, many produced for the Fillmore and Avalon Ballroom, pushed lettering and imagery to the edge of legibility in ways that still feel genuinely strange. He also designed for the Grateful Dead across multiple decades, including the album cover for Aoxomoxoa. The period originals here span that arc.
