Glamour

Glamour as a commercial subject emerged in the 1920s and never really left. Advertisers, magazine publishers, and travel companies all discovered that an idealized figure, elegantly rendered, could sell almost anything: perfume, ocean liners, cigarettes, a weekend in Monte Carlo.
