This is a stunning stone French lithography that translates to "The Beautiful Mechanic". In this bold graphic we see a dapper mechanic weighing his choices between a classic light-weight bicycle and a souped-up hot rod.

We love the contrasting amber hues of the "Belle Mechanique's" skin held against the deep blue of his uniform. All while the bold yellow lettering beneath seemingly puts this rivalry to bed...."Bicycles over Motorcycles" it reads. Gorgeous! Art by P. Bellenger in 1937. Perfect for the cycling or motorcycle enthusiast in your life.

Condition: Very good. Minor smudges. Conservation mounted on linen.

Year: c.1937 - 87 years old

Size: 15.25" x 23.5" (39cm x 60cm)
