The 1830s saw the rise of mass circulation magazines in America. Promoting greater consumption, these publications became popular as means to share everything from literature, philosophy, to sports and the current state of international affairs. Not to mention, they were a newfound opportunity for advertisers to capitalize on a novelty medium-- resulting in a new and attractive stream of revenue that would only encourage many others to soon develop publications of their own.

'Holiday' was a popular travel magazine that ran from 1946 to 1977. It was renowned for spot lighting hot travel destinations, must-see tours, and the best of the restaurant scene in the mid 20th century. Featured here is fabulous cover art of vacationers skipping shoreside as they soak up the rays. Fantastic detailing on this December 1946 classic.

If one thing is for certain, it is that this timeless magazine cover will frame beautifully.
