This fabulous 1948 magazine cover was designed by celebrated American illustrator Leonard Dove.

Dove began contributing cartoons and illustrations to The New Yorker in 1929, and his work quickly became popular with readers for its whimsical and elegant style. He was known for his use of a bold, graphic line and his skillful rendering of complex scenes and characters. Needless to say, Dove's impact on the artistic community continues to thrive in modern day. Signed in plate.
