Wissembourg- Gut Holz N° 110 (1880s)
$300.00
Another fascinating image produced by the C. Burckardt printing company in the 1880s, in Wissembough, France. "Gut Holz" literally translates to "good wood" and "Holz" is a bowling term for the pins. "Gut Holz" is a bowlers greeting, so this poster might have been a promotion for a local tournament or bowling alley, although we're still trying to figure out why the bull, pig, rabbit and dog (with a hat of course) are making an appearance. A wonderfully quirky image for the bowling enthusiast!
