With an exciting history dating back to the late 1800s, it is no wonder vintage crate labels are so incredibly collectible today!

Crate labels are commercial labels that were intricately designed and lithographed before being pasted on the ends of wooden shipping boxes. In order to attract more attention on crowded shelves, manufacturers began commissioning artists to create lively and one-of-a-kind illustrations representative of both the product, shipping origin and era in the early 1900s. Meaning, each shipping crate had the luxury of sporting a myriad of unique designs. How fascinating!

Bullseye! Could it just be a lucky shot? This cheerful and lush illustration of a Valencia orange certainly thinks so. Distributed by Eufruco Std., these magnificent oranges were rumored to make the jolliest juice in town! We can't wait to try it.
