Family Dog was a San Francisco concert promotion company that, starting in 1966, produced some of the most visually radical posters of the psychedelic era. Working alongside the Fillmore, it helped establish a house style built on Art Nouveau lettering pushed to near-illegibility, dense color, and hand-drawn imagery that owed as much to Victorian circus bills as to the counterculture. The pieces shown here are period originals from that run.
