Published in Paris around 1855, "Maisons de Campagne des Environs de Paris" was an architectural pattern book presenting country house designs for the prosperous middle class settling the villages outside the capital. Victor Petit's lithographed plates combined floor plans with exterior views, making the designs legible to clients as much as to builders.
