The J.J. Grandville Collection

J.J. Grandville was a French illustrator working in the first half of the 19th century whose signature move was placing animals in entirely human situations: dressed, employed, socializing, and misbehaving. The work reads as social satire with a light touch, closer to a raised eyebrow than a polemic.
