The Peter Arno Collection

Peter Arno spent more than four decades at The New Yorker, contributing cartoons and over a hundred covers from the magazine's founding year in 1925 until his death in 1968. His work defined a certain Manhattan attitude: sharp, a little dangerous, drawn with a bold line that made everyone in the room look like they were up to something. Roger Angell called him the magazine's first genius, and the work holds up. All pieces here are period originals.
