The small town of Geneva in the Swiss Alps is not as famous for skiing, but it does have a rather unique history. Geneva was used as an industrial city by the Romans to support their mining operations. After being occupied by different tribes of Germanic people throughout its long existence, Geneva was finally invited into Switzerland during peace negotiations after World War II.
