A stunning piece of history. This magnificent 1918 poster by Haskell Coffin was commissioned by the US Treasury as part of the campaign to raise money for WWI by having civilians buy war savings stamps. The low-priced stamps were pasted into a booklet that when filled could be exchanged for a war bond. Joan is depicted in full armor and brandishing a sword, but with 20th century touches like lipstick and makeup.

Condition: Good to Very Good. Tears, folds, and border wear have been professionally restored. Conservation mounted on linen.

Year: c.1918 - 106 years old

Size: 20.0" x 30.0" (51cm x 76cm)
