Wissembourg Lion N202 (1890s)

Wow. This magnificent stone lithograph of a roaring male lion was printed by the C. Burckardt printing company in Weissenburg, France during the 1890s. This is part of a series of posters featuring whimsical images of animals, random Alsatian characters, and comical caricatures all designed in a stunning Art Nouveau style. Looking for a dazzling focal point? You found it.

Size: 23 x 52

Condition: Good to Very Good. This poster consists of two sheets joined together, and is conservation mounted on linen. There is some fading on previous fold lines.
