This original 1963 illustrated map of Paris was created by the French cartographic studio Rougery La Blondel, a firm known for its beautifully detailed city plans and aerial-style perspective maps during the mid twentieth century. Their work blended technical accuracy with artistic charm, capturing the character of major European cities at a moment when tourism was rapidly expanding and visual travel aids were becoming an important part of cultural life.
Rougery La Blondel specialized in dense, bird’s eye urban renderings that allowed viewers to navigate a city through a single sweeping image. In this map of central Paris, the firm highlights major landmarks in red, uses green for parks and boulevards, and sets the rest of the city in crisp monochrome linework. The effect is both informative and decorative, giving a clear sense of the city’s layout while celebrating the architectural icons that define Paris. The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Tuileries, the Opéra, Notre Dame, and dozens of other landmarks appear in sharp miniature detail.
Published by the Commissariat Général au Tourisme, this map reflects the early 1960s era of French tourism promotion, when the country was presenting its cities with renewed pride in the postwar period. Maps by Rougery La Blondel remain appreciated today for their clarity, artistry, and nostalgic appeal, offering a vibrant snapshot of Paris as it appeared from above in the mid twentieth century. *Please note this poster is backed on conservation linen.

Some items which were previously folded or not suitable for rolling will be sent in a flat pack. Quite simply, if you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, simply contact us within 14 days of receipt and we'll gladly accept your return, providing the item is in the same condition as it was sent.
Returns
Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. It must also be sent in the original packaging.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable). Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. Any item that is returned more than 14 days after delivery may also be ineligible.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. Your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within two business days. Original shipping costs are not refundable.
