Pochoir

Pochoir is a French stenciling technique that produces color of unusual depth and saturation, built up by hand through layers of cut zinc or celluloid. It was the preferred method for fine fashion and lifestyle illustration in Paris from roughly 1910 through the 1930s, when publications like La Vie Parisienne used it to give their pages a quality that offset printing simply couldn't match. Every piece here is a period original made with that process.
