Jean-Michel Folon was a Belgian artist whose work appeared everywhere in the 1960s through the 1980s: magazine covers, exhibition posters, public campaigns, and gallery prints. His style is immediately recognizable, small solitary figures drifting through vast watercolor skies, rendered in soft gradients that feel closer to painting than commercial art. Much of his poster work came from European cultural institutions commissioning him for festivals and exhibitions. The period originals here are from the heart of that output.
