Chile's graphic output through the 20th century was shaped by sharp political swings, each of which left a distinct visual record. The most consequential period came in the early 1970s, when state-supported workshops produced some of the most striking political poster work in Latin America. Printmaking and illustration traditions ran alongside that, rooted in European craft brought over by immigrant communities. The pieces shown here are period originals from that lineage.
