Projekt was Poland's leading design journal through much of the Cold War era, publishing from Warsaw and serving as the main venue where Polish graphic designers exchanged ideas and gained visibility. The Polish School of Posters, which produced some of the most distinctive commercial and cultural graphics of the 20th century, grew partly through that kind of institutional support. Period originals from this tradition are genuine artifacts of a design movement that punched well above its country's political circumstances.
