Leslie's Weekly

Leslie's Weekly ran from 1855 to 1922, and at its peak it was one of the most widely read illustrated news magazines in America. It came into its own during the Spanish-American War, when its artists shipped out alongside correspondents to document a conflict the public was hungry to follow. That tradition of ambitious illustration attracted serious talent, including a young Norman Rockwell in the magazine's later years. The period originals here come from across that run.
