Window Cards

Window cards were small-format posters designed to be displayed in shop windows, ticket booths, and public spaces rather than on walls or hoardings. Because they were meant to catch attention at close range, they often carry sharper detail and more intimate graphic work than their full-size counterparts. The format spans commercial advertising, film promotion, and public campaigns, with period examples turning up across Europe and the United States from the late 19th century through the mid-20th.
