Carnaval, Chalon-Sur-Saône

Step into the vivacious ambiance of the 1964 Chalon-Sur-Saône Carnaval! This vintage poster, a creation by French artist P. Werdnis, paints a vibrant picture of the festival's exuberant spirit.

Three geometric figures, bedecked in brilliant red, yellow, and green costumes, unite with raised hands, poised for jubilant celebration. The poster extends a warm invitation to the annual Carnaval, a tradition deeply rooted in history, spanning over 110 years.

For a decade now, Chalon-Sur-Saône has been graced by the lively "gôniots" who fill the streets with jubilant noise, carrying on a tradition that has enchanted the city for nearly a century. The Carnaval de Chalon, the 5th largest in France, revolves around two grand parades featuring a plethora of floats and confetti, infusing Sunday afternoons with a vibrant atmosphere. It's a celebration that has become a cherished part of Chalon-Sur-Saône's cultural heritage.

A joyous addition to any lucky home.
