Postcard

Postcards were a serious print medium long before they became a novelty. From the late 19th century through the mid-20th, they carried original artwork and photography to mass audiences at a time when the format commanded real design attention. The printing methods of that era, particularly the rich tonal work of pre-linen and pre-chrome production, give period examples a visual quality that later printing never quite matched. What's shown here are originals from that tradition.
