This post WWII image was issued by the administrators of the Marshall Plan who aggressively promoted the benefits of rebuilding Western Europe after the war. The Marshall Plan laid the foundation for both the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the later integration of Europe. This poster, designed by Dirksen Reyn, won first prize in a Marshall Plan poster contest. The design, with its single ship flying the flags of Europe, highlighted the importance of intra-European cooperation. In addition to being a wonderful graphic image, it also captures an important point in our history. This poster was folded at one point, and shows tape marks and some vintage wear, but still displays beautifully.
