Vietnam's poster tradition grew directly out of political necessity. From the mid-20th century onward, the government commissioned bold, flat-color propaganda work to mobilize a largely rural population through decades of conflict and reconstruction. The style drew on Soviet influences but developed its own visual character, with strong silhouettes and hand-lettered text printed in limited color runs. The pieces shown here are period originals from that tradition.
